Ander, Certified Fire Investigation Instructor with the National Association of Fire Investigators, a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator with the NAFI and a Certified Fire Investigator with the International Association of Arson Investigators
DESCRIPTION: The science of fire investigation has evolved to a new concept over the audi last 30 years that now allows fire investigators to get a better understanding of burn patterns, collection of evidence and detection of arson cases. A fire department responds to a fire in the United States every 22 seconds. Pat Andler will show test fir car news es conducted to better trained fire investigators and will also demonstrate how a certified accelerant dog uses these tools to detect arrest and convict arsonists.

With five major wildfires currently ablaze in Arizona, fire science is a relevant and important topic. By applying technologies and science principles such as chemistry and physics, a fire investigator can determine what caused the incident, and if arson is to blame. "The need for competent investigation is needed more than ever," states Pat Andler, the featured lecturer during July's Adults' Night Out.
This multi-media presentation also features Lightning Jack, a 3-year old golden Labrador retriever trained to detect accelerants such as gasoline. Andler will also demonstrate a scanning electron microscope and reconstruct a fire 1086274749 scene to show how investigators determine its origin.
