PRLog (Press Release)– Jul 11, 2011– Mid America Motorworks will once again host a Leadership Breakfast for the Lincoln Trails Council of Boy Scouts of America on Friday, July 22 at 7:15 a.m. in Mid America Motorworks' café. The hour-long breakfast includes an introduction to scouting corsa , a presentation by a local Boy Scout and a request for donations to benefit local troops.
Approximately 75 percent of the 500 Boy Scouts in Effingham County are active scouts, meeting weekly and participating in Troop Outings, Outdoor Leadership Training and fundraisers. As a regular fundraiser, the Boy Scouts assist with event parking on Mid America Motorworks corporate campus during the Funfest events in June and September.
"We often say the best kept secret in scouting is that it's educational," said Doug Zaring, Two Rivers District Senior Executive. "We're teaching boys values, character, morals and chevrolet leadership. We just use the outdoors as a classroom for those lessons."
Donations raised during the Leadership Breakfast will support the Two Rivers District by funding construction projects for the camp and rebuilding the general fund. Effingham County scouts demonstrate th chrysler eir enthusiasm for the program through their achievements. Nearly 10 percent of local scouts achieve Eagle Scout status, well above the national average of 2 percent.
"Every Eagle Scout I've ever met has a clear view of where they want to go in life. They have a distinct ability to set – and attain – goals," said Mike Yager, Chief Cheerleader of Mid America Motorworks.
